GIFFONI VALLE PIANA (SA) – La regista Selma Vilhunen col suo documentario, presentato a Giffoni Film Festival, “Hobbyhorse revolution” ha voluto far conoscere un gioco che da diversi anni è diventato un vero e proprio sport, popolarissimo in Finlandia l’Hobbyhorse.
Oggi, questo sport conta oltre 10 mila appassionati e si ispira al tradizionale gioco del cavalluccio caduto in disuso lo scorso secolo. In Finlandia, invece, dopo un periodo dove le praticanti dovevano nascondere la propria passione per non subire un vero e proprio mobbing dai loro amici, si è diffuso in maniera esponenziale. Numerose le gare nelle varie disciplina che si ispirano all’equitazione tradizionale, come il salto ostacoli e il dressage. Un gioco “molto difficile per chi non ha pazienza ma, per chi ne ha, è facile” questo dichiara una delle protagoniste del documentario nella pellicola. Oggi il gioco è così diffuso che ora anche i genitori si sono appassionati e accompagnano i figli alle gare”.
Esiste un vero e proprio campionato nazionale ma alcune delle curiosità le svela al Bello dello Sport una ragazza finlandese presente in sala di proiezione: “Era un gioco molto diffuso. Giocavo anch’io. Lo si pratica perché avere esperienze con i cavalli veri è molto costoso, mentre con il cavallo di pezza i costi si abbassano notevolmente. Non so spiegare altrimenti questa diffusione”.
Ma abbiamo notato che le giurie erano composte da ragazzine, come mai?
“Semplicemente perché gli adulti non conoscono le regole e quali movenze dovrebbero avere le atlete più dotate. E’ uno sport giovane e non ci sono molti adulti competenti che potrebbero giudicare al meglio le prestazioni dei partecipanti. Molte degli appassionati, però, hanno già avuto esperienze di dressage o di salto con cavalli veri e a loro non resta che imitare al meglio le movenze del cavallo stesso”.
Alla regista gli si chiede se ha mai provato durante le riprese questo sport: “naturalmente mi è capitato di farlo, sarebbe stato impossibile non provarci”.
Perché questo titolo?
“Semplicemente perché questo sport ha avuto bisogno, in chi lo praticava, di una forza interiore per superare le reticenze degli amici e di tutti coloro che stigmatizzavano questa loro passione”.
Hobbyhorse, il nuovo gioco finlandese, avrà un grosso successo anche nel resto d’Europa?

But we noticed that the jury was composed of little girls, why?
“Just because adults do not know the rules and what motions they should have the most endowed athletes. It’s a young sport and there are not many competent adults who can best judge the performance of the participants. Many of the enthusiasts, however, have already had Dressage or jumping experiences with real horses and they just have to imitate the horse’s movements in the best way. ”
The director asks if he has ever tried this sport during the shooting: “Of course I did it, it would have been impossible not to try.”
Why this title?
“Simply because this sport needed, in those who practiced it, an inner strength to overcome the reticence of friends and all those who stigmatized their passion.”
Hobbyhorse, the new Finnish game, will also have a big success in the rest of Europe?
